LINE

Connect a LINE Official Account in the desktop client under Channels to manage the account and send messages or broadcasts to friends who have added it. Follow the steps below for the first-time setup.

You bind by copying two values from the LINE console and pasting them into the client (no QR scan).

What you need

ItemNotes
Desktop clientInstalled and signed in
LINE Official AccountAn existing Official Account, or create one; you must be an admin
Access to LINE DevelopersYou can open LINE Developers Console and open the channel for that Official Account
NetworkBinding calls LINE to verify credentials—keep a working connection

Use the messaging channel

Copy values from a Messaging API channel only. IDs or secrets from other channel types (for example login-only) will fail binding.

Step 1: Enable messaging

Skip if messaging is already enabled.

  1. Open LINE Official Account Manager and sign in as an admin.
  2. Select the Official Account.
  3. Go to Settings → Messaging API (labels may vary).
  4. Enable Messaging API.
  5. Open Developers Console from the page link, or open it yourself.

Step 2: Copy the values you need

  1. Open LINE Developers Console.
  2. Select the correct Provider, then the Messaging API channel (name usually matches the Official Account).
  3. Under Basic settings:
    • Copy Channel ID
    • Copy Channel secret (keep it private—do not share in public chats)
  4. Access token is usually not needed: leave it empty in the client; the service can issue access from Channel ID + Secret.

Most people only need two fields

In the bind dialog, fill Channel ID and Channel secret. Paste Access Token only if you intentionally use a long-lived token from the console.

Step 3: Bind in the client

  1. Desktop client → ChannelsLINE.
  2. Stay on Account authorization.
  3. Click Bind LINE Official Account.
  4. Enter:
    • Channel ID (required)
    • Channel secret (required)
    • Access token (optional—leave empty unless needed)
  5. Confirm. The Official Account should appear under connected assets (refresh if needed).

After binding, you can manage the account in Channels and use messaging / broadcast features. Message types and broadcast limits follow LINE’s rules—check Official Account Manager for details.

What you can do after binding

  • View, disconnect, or rebind the Official Account under Channels → LINE.
  • Send messages or broadcasts to users who have added the account (exact screens depend on your client version).
  • Auto-reply, webhooks, and other advanced options are configured in LINE’s own consoles; they are separate from this bind step.

FAQ

Invalid channel_id / secret — Wrong channel type, truncated copy, or a reset secret (use the new secret and rebind).

Wrong display name — Comes from the Official Account profile. Update it in Official Account Manager, then refresh or rebind in the client.

Is access token required? — No. Fill it only when you intentionally use a long-lived token for the same Channel ID.

Multiple Official Accounts? — Yes. Bind each with its own Channel ID / Secret; they appear as separate assets.

Disconnect — Use disconnect / unbind on the LINE Account authorization page. You must enter credentials again to reconnect.
